Two free medical days at Maili Tisa

For two days, Hayat Humanitarian Aid ran a free medical camp at the Maili Tisa Dispensary, in partnership with the County Government of Kajiado and local partners. From early morning, families walked in from the surrounding villages — elders leaning on walking sticks, mothers carrying babies, young people who had never seen a dentist.

Our volunteer doctors and nurses offered:

  • Minor surgery to remove benign tumours and growths that patients had lived with for years
  • Dental care for painful teeth and infections
  • General check-ups, diagnosis and medicines

For many of these patients, the nearest surgeon is hours away and the cost is out of reach. Here, the care was free — and it was given with dignity.

Masjid Al Salaam opens its doors in Funanida Village

On 14 October 2026 (3 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH), we inaugurated Masjid Al Salaam — a gift from Hayat Humanitarian Aid donors to the Muslims of Funanida Village. The mosque has its own water tank for wudu, prayer carpets, a minbar and copies of the Qur'an.

The first congregational prayer filled the hall from wall to wall. Children now have a place to learn the Qur'an, and the whole village has a centre for prayer, gathering and community life. Every prayer offered there is sadaqah jariyah for everyone who helped build it.

The need

Why Kenya needs us

  1. More than a third

    Poverty

More than a third of Kenyans live below the national poverty line, and in the dry northern and pastoral counties where we work — such as Marsabit — the share is far higher. Repeated droughts have wiped out livestock that families depend on, leaving many without income or enough food.

  2. Hours away

    Healthcare

Healthcare is often out of reach. Rural clinics are few and far apart, many lack doctors and basic equipment, and specialist treatment means a long, costly journey. Conditions that are easy to treat — a dental infection, a small tumour — are left for years.

  3. Long walks

    Education

Education is a struggle. In these communities, children often walk long distances to school, classrooms are overcrowded, and many — especially girls — leave school early to help their families survive. Without education, the cycle of poverty continues into the next generation.

Help us do more in Kenya

What you saw this month is only the beginning. With your support, we want to:

  • Run more free medical camps in remote villages
  • Support schools and Qur'an classes with supplies and teachers
  • Build more mosques and provide clean water for communities in need

Every gift, large or small, reaches a family who needs it.
