Thousands of people in Gaza, many of them children, have lost limbs in the war. A prosthetic limb lets them walk, work and live with dignity again.
Thousands of people in Gaza, many of them children, have lost arms and legs in the war. Inside Gaza there is almost no way to get a prosthetic limb fitted, so injured patients who reach Egypt for treatment are often left without the limb they need to rebuild their lives.
Hayat Humanitarian Aid is working with our partners The Akhirah Project to provide prosthetic limbs for these patients in Egypt. The limbs are made and fitted by our receiving partner, Orthomatic International Group, and we expect each round of fittings to take place within four weeks of the funds being transferred.
A well-fitted prosthetic limb gives back mobility, independence and dignity: a child can walk to school again, a parent can work and care for their family.
